Scott Brown was a 1976 graduate of Seymour High School and a four-year varsity wrestler for the Owls.

As a senior, Scott wrestled at 132 pounds and won sectional, regional and semi-state championships. He finished third in the state, which matches the highest finish ever for a Seymour wrestler. He had a season record of 33-3 and helped the Owls to second place in the sectional and fourth place in the regional.

As a junior, he wrestled at 126 pounds and despite battling a knee injury had a record of 17-3. He won a sectional championship and placed third in the regional.

In his sophomore season, Scott wrestled at 105 pounds and had a record of 27-1. He won a sectional championship before taking third in the regional.

In his freshman year at 98 pounds, he had a record of 26-4-1. He won sectional and regional championships and then took fourth place in the state. He helped Seymour finish second in the sectional and regional and 19th in the state.

Scott also won three South Central Conference championships. He had an outstanding career record of 103-11-1, winning nearly 90 percent of his matches. During his wrestling days at Seymour, he set the school record for takedowns in a season with 63 and takedowns in a career with 174. When he graduated, Scott had the record for wins in a season at three different weight classes 98, 105 and 132.
